“I am at Algeria coach’s disposal,” says Lemmouchia

Algeria midfielder Khaled Lemmouchia said Tuesday coach Rabeh Saadane is like his father and he did not make any troubles in the squad. “I quitted because my mother was ill,” he told Echorouk on the phone.

  • “Saadane is like my father. I respect him a lot because he is an excellent coach and he knows how to deal with his players. I have never criticised him,” he added.
  •
  • The Entente Setif player said he talked a lot with Saadane and the FAF’s chief Mohamed Raouraoua. “I explained to them how ill my mother was. They were comprehensive and gave me the go-ahead to leave.”
  •
  • Lemmouchia also said he is at Saadane’s disposal and he will continue working hard to rejoin the squad directly after the African Cup of Nations.
  •
  • “I congratulated everyone after qualification”
  •
  • The midfielder said he called the Algerian players and congratulated them for reaching the quarter finals after a draw 0-0 against Angola. “I congratulated the squad and wish more victories to them.”
  •
  • Saadane has not replied to the player neither he has called him since he left the squad. “But I received an SMS from Raouraoua thanking me for congratulating the squad.”
  •
  • “Montpellier did not contact me anymore”
  •
  • Lemmouchia said his contacts with French Montpellier stopped because of his departure from the squad. “My contacts with Montpellier stopped directly after I had quitted because the team’s boss wanted to watch me in the African Cup.”
  •
  • “I am still playing for the Entente Setif,” he added.
